Why won't my DR Lawn and Garden Equipment engine start manually?
    • K
      Kaitlyn RileyJul 30, 2025
Several factors can prevent the engine from starting. Ensure the Spark Plug Wire is attached, the Bag is properly installed and latched, and the Bag Presence Interlock Switch is depressed. Also, check the oil and gas levels. Old gas may be the issue, so replace it and use a fuel stabilizer if storing gas for over a month. Inspect the Throttle adjustment and travel. A dirty or cracked Spark Plug should be replaced. Finally, a dirty Air Filter should be replaced following the procedure in the Engine Owner’s Manual.

What to do if the DR Lawn and Garden Equipment recoil is hard to pull?
    • B
      bennettnatalieAug 16, 2025
If the recoil is difficult to pull, start by checking for debris in the Impeller Housing. Also, verify the engine oil level, as a low level could indicate a seized engine. If there may be an oil compression lock in the cylinder, remove the Spark Plug, cover the Spark Plug hole with a rag, and pull the recoil cord several times to clear any oil. Wipe off the Spark Plug and reinstall it.
