Removing and Replacing the Engine Oil
WHEN PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE, YOU MUST FIRST SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, WAIT FIVE (5)
MINUTES TO ALLOW PARTS TO COOL AND DISCONNECT THE SPARK PLUG WIRE, KEEPING IT AWAY
FROM THE SPARK PLUG.
BE CERTAIN TO FILL THE ENGINE WITH OIL BEFORE STARTING. SEE PAGE 20.
Tools & Supplies Recommended:
• Vacuum Pump Oil Drainer
• SAE 30 HD, 20 oz. (0.60L)
NOTE: Remove the oil when the engine is warm. Warm oil flows quickly and completely.
1. Remove the Oil Fill Cap and vacuum the oil from the engine through the Oil Fill Tube (Figure 20) using
a Vacuum Pump Oil Drainer.
2. Replace the oil by following the instructions on page 20.
3. Reattach the spark plug wire.
NOTE: If you are not reusing the oil, be sure to use environmentally safe disposal procedures in the disposing of
the used oil.
