12 Flow Measurement
A moving screen (moving vane) measures the expiratory flow of the patient. A
flow-dependent pressure builds up at the moving vane. This pressure is picked up at
the differential pressure sensor (
P). The differential pressure sensor converts the
pressure into an electronic signal and transmits this signal to the microcontroller.
