the limit for more than 15 sec-
onds possibly due to one of
the following:
– Soda lime is depleted.
– Leakage in breathing sys-
tem.
– Gas measurement is inac-
curate due to high respira-
tory rate.
– Large dead space.
– Check soda lime.
– Increase fresh-gas
flow.
– Check fresh-gas set-
tings.
– Replace the breath-
ing system.
– Adjust alarm limits if
necessary.
– Check ventilation set-
tings.

The inspiratory anesthetic gas
concentration has exceeded 3
xMAC for more than 3
minutes.
Check vaporizer and
fresh-gas settings.

– The inspiratory anesthetic

or, while the patient is breath-
ing:
– The inspiratory anesthetic
gas concentration has
exceeded 3 xMAC for
more than 30 seconds,
– The expiratory anesthetic

exceeded 2.5 xMAC for
more than 30 seconds.
Check vaporizer and
fresh-gas settings.

exceeded the Scio upper limit
of the measurement range.
