the limit for more than 15 sec-
onds possibly due to one of
the following:
Soda lime is depleted.
Leakage in breathing sys-
tem.
Gas measurement is inac-
curate due to high respira-
tory rate.
Large dead space.
Check soda lime.
Increase fresh-gas
flow.
Check fresh-gas set-
tings.
Replace the breath-
ing system.
Adjust alarm limits if
necessary.
Check ventilation set-
tings.

The inspiratory anesthetic gas
concentration has exceeded 3
xMAC for more than 3
minutes.
Check vaporizer and
fresh-gas settings.
