Tapping Into and Connecting the
Beer Keg
PLEASE NOTE: If you have a fresh keg, skip
this and the following section and follow
the instructions in the “Connecting a Fresh
Keg” section.
1. Check the lid of the beer keg for any
dents or deformations. The clips (14) of
the dispensing unit (Picture B) can only
engage on the lid of the beer keg if it is
not damaged in any way.
2. Prepare the beer keg for tapping (see
the “Preparing the Beer Keg” chapter).
3. Dip the tapping sword (15) under cold,
clear water for a short time.
4. Place the tapping sword vertically into
the opening in the plug of the beer keg
or the universal adapter (PictureF)
and press it forcefully and swiftly down
into the beer keg until both clips of the
dispensing unit engage on the beer keg
(PictureG).
L
If the plug of the beer keg is dam-
aged and does not rest tight against
the tapping sword, replace the plug
with the universal adapter that is
also supplied.
• To detach the dispensing unit from the
keg, pull up the locking lug on the side
of the clip with some force (PictureG).
You can now pull it away from the keg.
5. Open the lid(2) of the device by press-
ing the release button(1).
6. Grab the beer keg by the clips and place
it in the cooling container(3) (Pic-
tureH). The valve of the beer line(17)
must be facing forwards towards the
tap(10).
7. Press the button on the back of the
tap(27, Picture I) and as you do this
pull the cover(26, PictureI) out of the
tap housing.
8. For conventional beer kegs, a short
beer hose with connecting piece(22) is
required. If it is not already fitted, the
connecting piece is plugged into the
hose and fixed in place with the associ-
ated clamp.
Place the beer hose through the round
opening on the bottom of the cover.

tap(10) (PictureJ).

it and guiding it back into the vertical
position.
• Detach the beer hose: Open the tap and
pull the beer hose out of the tap.
12. Insert the cover into the top of the tap
housing (PictureI).
13. Plug the connecting piece on the beer
hose into the valve(17) of the beer line
(PictureK).
14. Plug the valve(13) of the CO

line onto
the associated connecting piece (Pic-
