2 Safety instructions
The knowledge and the technically flawless implementation of the safety
instructions and warnings contained in this manual are necessary for the safe
assembly and commissioning, as well as for the safety during operation and
maintenance of the described product. Only suitably qualified personnel will
possess the necessary technical knowledge to correctly interpret the
instructions regarding safety instructions and warnings given in a general
sense in this document and implement them in the concrete circumstances of
the individual case, applying appropriate procedures.
Please comply strictly with the following warnings and safety instructions in
this manual. They serve to avert dangers to life and limb of users and
maintenance personnel and to prevent damage to property.
2.1 General safety instructions
The DURAG Compact Flame Monitor D−LX 200, D−LX 720 is in accordance
with the current state of technology and the recognised technical safety
regulations, hazards can nevertheless arise.
Therefore operate the product only when it is in perfect condition, and observe
the operating instructions. Any change to normal operation should be taken as
a serious indication of impaired functionality. In this context pay attention to:
Emission of smoke or unusual smells,
Excessive temperatures of system components,
Changes in power consumption without obvious cause,
Tripping of monitoring devices.
Improper use of handling can result in health hazards or damage. Therefore,
please read this chapter thoroughly and comply with the instructions during all
activities on the D−LX 200, D−LX 720 as well as the safety instructions and
warnings in the individual chapters of this operating manual.
In principle, the following warnings and safety instructions apply for the
D−LX 200, D−LX 720:
The flame monitor is a type approved device. Any intervention or
modifications will render the approval null and void. Repairs may only be
undertaken by the manufacturer or those appointed by it, as only they can
verify full functionality following repair, by means of extensive long-term tests
and suitable test devices.
