2 Safety instructions
D−LX 200, D−LX 720 19
The Compact Flame Monitor is mounted directly at the boiler. In the case
of systems with a low danger potential (ambient pressure, low
temperatures, no health hazard), mounting/removal can occur during
system operation. The applicable provisions and safety regulations for the
system must be complied with and any necessary and appropriate
protective measures taken.
CAUTION!
Danger of burns due to hot surfaces!
Contact with hot components can cause burns.
Where any work is undertaken in the vicinity of hot components,
protective work clothing and gloves are always to be worn.
Prior to any work ensure that all components have cooled down to the
ambient temperature.
CAUTION!
Explosion protection (ATEX, FM, CSA, ...)
When using Ex-devices and Ex-components (see Ex type label) always read
the instructions and safety information in Chapter 3 Explosion protection.
2.4 Hazard to the device due to purge air failure
The purge air serves to protect the system mounted on the boiler. It shields
the components from hot and/or aggressive gases and dusts. The purge air
supply must therefore be reliably ensured even when the system is
stationary. If the purge air fails, the lens can quickly become soiled and the
device can overheat due to heat accumulation and be destroyed.
The operating company must therefore ensure that:
the purge air supply operates reliably and without interruption,
any failure is detected immediately,
the Compact Flame Monitor is protected in cases of purge air failure
through ventilation or dismantling.
2.5 Designated use
Designated use, see Chapter 5.5 from page 48.
2.6 Avoidance of consequential damage in the event of a system
fault
For avoidance and limitation of faults that could lead directly or indirectly to
personal injuries or damage to property, the operating company must ensure that:
responsible maintenance personnel are available at short notice at any
time.
maintenance personnel are trained in the targeted localisation and rectification
of faults in the D−LX 200, D−LX 720 and associated systems.
