5.0 GENERAL
The following paragraphs give a general description and
explanation of the operation of the breaker.
5.1
THE OPERATING MECHANISM AND HOW IT
WORKS
The operating mechanism
is
of the spring charged stored
energy type. This means that it consists of two major
parts:
(1)
The stored energy or spring-charging mechanism.
(2)
The mechanism for closing and opening the breaker.
The basic parts of these are combined into one
sub-assembly illustrated
in
Figures 10, 11, 12, and 13.
There are two varieties of mechanisms for the complete
line of
DS
and DSL breakers:
