GPS - REMOVAL

1. General
A.
This task gives the procedure to remove the Global Positioning System/Wide Area
Augmentation System (GPS/WAAS) sensors.
B. There are two GPS/WAAS sensors installed in the aircraft. Removal steps are the same
for the light and right sides, unless specified.

Job Set-Up

A.
Make the aircraft safe for maintenace. Refer to AMM-20-00-01-051-801 – Make Safe For
Maintenance..
B. Remove power from the aircraft. Refer to AMM-24-40-00-051-801 – External Power -
Maintenance Practices..
C. Remove the 231 JZ – Cabin Headliner Assembly. Refer to AMM-06-50-00-051-801 –
Aircraft Access Panels.

Procedure

(Refer to Fig. 401.)
A.
Remove the four bolts (1) that attach the GPS/WAAS sensor (4) to the mounting bracket
(5) .
(1) For the right side sensor, remove the four spacers (6) .
B. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) and Coax Threaded Neill-Concelman (TNC)
connector (3) from the GPS/WAAS sensor (4) .
C. Remove the GPS/WAAS sensor (4) from the mounting bracket (5) .
D. Install protective caps on the electrical connector (2) and Coax TNC connector (3) .
