Note:
For
opmum water cooling, make sure that the cooling water supply meets the
specicaon given in Cooling water data on page 21. Make sure water supplies are
connected in parallel. Refer to Figure: Controls/connectors on the rear of the system. We
recommend use of quick connectors to decrease the risk of water spills during connecon
and disconnecon. Some pump variants are supplied with quick connector mang
halves. The quick connector mang halves are also available as an accessory kit. Refer to
Accessories on page 93.
For minimum water consumpon, control the cooling water ow to the system.
Seng the cooling water ow rate - Method 1
Before you start, make sure that the electrical power supply to the system is set to o.
To connect the cooling water supply:
1. Use a 3/8 inch BSP male pipe ng to aach the female quick-release connector
to the cooling water supply hose.
2. Use a 3/8 inch BSP female pipe ng to aach the male quick-release connector
to the cooling water return hose.
3. Remove the dust caps from the cooling water inlet and outlet.
4. Connect the water return hose to the cooling water outlet. Refer to Figure:
Controls/
connectors on the rear of the system
5. Install a water ow meter into the water supply line close to the pump and then
connect the water supply hose to the cooling water inlet. Refer to Figure: Controls/
connectors on the rear of the system
6. Turn on the cooling water supply.
7. Switch on the electrical power to the system. The water valves in the pump cooling
system will automacally open shortly aer power up (in 1 minute) for a period of
20 seconds.
8. While the main pump water valves are open, adjust the water ow r
ate so that it
meets the requirements given in Table: Water cooling system data.
Note:
All the water valves will close again aer 20 sec
onds and the ow rate displayed by
the water ow meter will decrease. If necessary, cycle the power to the pump to re-
open the valves for a further 20 seconds to connue seng the water ow rate.
9. Remove the water ow meter aer the water ow rate is set.
10. Do the inspecon and leak check of the water hoses, pipelines and connecons.
11. Turn o the water supply.
Seng the cooling water ow rate - Method 2
Use the following procedure to connect the cooling water supply and make sure that the
system is receiving the correct water ow rate. Before you start, make sure that the
electrical power supply to the system is switched o:
