7 Storage and unpacking
7.1 Storage of the UPS
If the unit is not going to be installed immediately, follow those instructions:
Store and keep the UPS always in its original packaging.
Suggested environmental temperature for storage is: +5°C...+30°C.
Keep humidity away from the UPS.
If the storage time is longer than 3 months, the UPS and its external battery
pack (optional) have to be put into service for about 12 hours, to avoid a
total discharge. If the environmental temperature is high, this procedure
has to be continued every 2 months.
7.2 Unpacking of the UPS
Before installation, check carefully the condition of the packaging and the
external appearance. Store the packaging material for future usage.
Remove cartons and other materials of the packaging. Always store the unit
horizontal, not headlong.
Check the delivery slip with the delivery. If delivery is incomplete or if you have
received a wrong delivery, inform immediately your supplier. The standard
packaging is consisting of:
1 manual
1 UPS communication-software with RS232 cord
Also check for transport damages. Damages have to be claimed immediately.
Store delivery cartons and packaging materials for checking reasons.
Inform immediately the producer or the supplier.
Inform immediately the forwarder.
