4.3.8 Using 105S Modules
105S modules can be used by themselves, as “line telemetry” or “wired I/O”, or they can be used as
I/O expansion for 905U modules. As the 105S modules are connected by RS485, the 105S modules
can be separated from the 905U modules by some distance. There can be up to 32 addresses on the one
RS485 multi-drop link. Note that each –3 and –4 module takes up 2 addresses. For example, you
could have up to 32 modules sharing a multi-drop link if they are all –1 or -2 modules - if they are all
–3 or –4, then you could only have 16 modules on the link.
105S modules are configured with unit addresses in the range 96 – 127.
Example 1 - Mapping to another 105S module on the same link.
The I/O mapping is done in the same way as for 905U modules.
