ToinstallaPSM,proceedasfollows:
1. AlignthePSMwiththeslot,thenslidethePSMforwarduntilitsfrontpanelisflush
againstthechassisfrontpanel.
2. FastenthePSMtothechassisusingthecaptive
screws.
3. Performsteps1and2foreachPSMbeingreplaced.Whencompleted,proceedto
“ConnectingthePSMCablesandACPowerCords”onpage 2‐6.
Installing C2RPS-CHAS8 into the Rack
Toinstallthechassisintoa19‐inchrack,youneedtenuser‐suppliedscrewstofastenthe
chassistotherackrails.
AfterinstallingthePSM(s)asdescribedbackin“InstallingC2RPS‐PSMs”onpage 2‐2,
rackmountthechassisasfollows:
1. Refertotheinstallationguidelines(“Guidelinesfor
RackmountInstallation”on
page 2 ‐4).
2. Installthechassisintotherack(“RackMountingtheChassis”onpage 2‐5).
3. ConnectthePSMcablesandACpowercords(“ConnectingthePSMCablesandAC
PowerCords”onpage 2‐6).
Guidelines for Rackmount Installation
Theinstallationsitemustbewithinreachofthenetworkcablingandmeetthe
requirementslistedbelow:
•Chassisplacementcloseenoughtoconnectthe2‐meter(6.6‐foot)PSMcablesfromthe
PSMstotheACpowersource.
•Uptoeightthree‐prongedpowerreceptaclescapableofdeliveringthecurrentand
voltage
specifiedin“C2RPS‐PSMSpecifications”onpage A‐2.UptoeightACoutlets
onindependently‐fusedcircuitsmustbewithin182 centimeters(6 feet)fromthe
installationsite.IfthereisanACpowersourcefailure,thiswillpreventthepowering
downofPSMsduetoasinglesourcepowerfailure.
•Power
cordsandtypeofoutletaredependentonthecountry.IntheUnitedStates,
onepowercordwithanNEMA5‐15PplugisprovidedwitheachC2RPS‐PSM.
Note: If you plan to remove and not replace a C2RPS-PSM, immediately reinstall
coverplates over any empty power supply slots to prevent EMI leakage from the chassis.
