What to do if Epson RC700 motor oscillates?
    • R
      Ryan CochranAug 5, 2025
If the motor oscillates, it could be due to incorrect wiring for the Motor Power or Encoder signal between the drive and motor. Check the wiring and correct it if necessary. It could also be that the gain setting on the drive isn't appropriate for the load. Reset the gain properly by referring to the drive’s manual.

Why is the Epson RC700 robot operating speed not increasing?
    • J
      Justin BeasleyAug 10, 2025
The robot's operating speed may not increase if the SPEL+ Power setting is set to Low. In this case, set the Power to High. Also, check for invalid parameter settings in the Robot Manager configuration and correct them.

How to fix Epson RC700 error 4004, Event waiting error with the Motion Control Module?
    • K
      Kimberly PenaAug 20, 2025
Error 4004 can occur if the servo motor is oscillating and not outputting the position completion signal. Adjust the gain to prevent the servo motor from oscillating. It can also happen if positioning is obstructed by interference or enforcing operations. Connect the DEND input to GND to disable wait for positioning.

Why does Epson RC700 motor not run?
    • M
      Melissa GomezOct 30, 2025
The motor might not run due to several reasons: * The safeguard input signal isn't properly connected, or the safeguard is open. When open, the robot can only be operated by a teaching device. Ensure it's correctly wired and closed. * The pulse output signal from the PG Board isn't correctly connected to the drive. * The pulse output from the PG Board isn't compatible with the drive's input. Check the settings on both the PG Board and the drive, ensuring they comply with the drive’s specifications (power cycle might be needed for validation). * The maximum frequency of the general pulse output isn't set correctly. Verify the settings. * The drive's control mode isn't set to position control mode. Check the settings. * The drive settings prohibit output to the motor or pulse in...

What causes unstable motor rotation and position variation in Epson RC700?
    • E
      Elizabeth FloydNov 14, 2025
Unstable motor rotation and position variation can be caused by several factors: * The origin sensor being too close to the encoder Z phase: Adjust the origin sensor position. * An inappropriate setting for the maximum frequency of the generated pulse: Set the maximum frequency value within the range specified in the drive’s specifications. * Excessive power swing at the stepper motor: Find out the cause of the overload to cancel the situation or run with lower speed / acceleration. * Wiring connecting the PG Board to the drive being too long: Keep the wiring as short as possible (recommended length is 1.5 meters or shorter). * A powerful noise source in the surrounding area: See the section 2.4.1 Minimizing Noise Interference. Also refer to the related sections for the wiring a...
