1.2.1 Parallel Interface - Compatibility Mode
The BUSY signal is set high before setting the -ERROR signal low or the PE
signal high. The BUSY signal remains high until all these signals return to
their normal, inactive state.
The BUSY signal is high:
When receiving data
When the input data buffer is full
When the -INIT signal is low, or during hardware initialization
During a printer error
When the parallel interface is not selected
The ERROR signal is low when there is a:
Printer hardware error (fatal error)
Paper-out error
Paper-jam error
Ink-out error
NOTE: The PE signal is high during paper-out errors.
