• The test specimen is connected via the VIO 3 electrosurgical unit to the
power supply.
• The argon gas bottle is connected to the test specimen via the variable
pressure regulator.
• The FiAPC test adapter is connected to the APC socket.
• The return electrode patient cable is connected to the return electrode
socket using the short-circuited return electrode adapter cable.
• The dual-pedal footswitch with ReMode is connected.
Test procedure
1st test step 1. Slowly reduce the input pressure (of 5 bar) at the test specimen using
the variable pressure regulator. In doing so, use the manometer to
check the actual pressure applied.
2. Press the COAG pedal on the footswitch. Gas flow is generated and
the actual pressure applied falls.
3. When the actual pressure applied falls to <3 bar, the test specimen
must display a vacuum message and automatically terminate activa-
tion.
2nd test step 1. Slowly increase the input pressure (of 5 bar) at the test specimen
using the variable pressure regulator. In doing so, use the manometer
to check the actual pressure applied.
2. When the input pressure rises to >7 bar, the test specimen must dis-
play an overpressure message and automatically terminate activa-
tion.
