ESS XT-3 OWNERS MANUAL
Baeries
The nozzle charging system operates on two 9-volt rechargeable baeries which are located in the base of the spraywand.
Please charge the baeries fully before the rst use. In average condions, the baeries will perform 5-6 hours of operaon on
an individual charge. The baeries should be recharged when the charging indicator light on top of the spraywand shell fails to
glow even though air connues to ow through the spraywand. Aer approximately 800-1000 hours of service, the baeries
will no longer be able to hold an adequate charge and will need to be replaced. Substute with 9-volt nickel-hydride
rechargeable baeries, unl the XT-3s replacement rechargeable baery pack from ESS can be ordered.
Remember to charge the
spraywand baeries aer every
work session!
To change the baeries:
1. Unscrew the two 6-32 x 1/2” Phillips head machine screws which hold the
baery cover in place.
2. While holding the leads in one hand, gently disconnect the baeries from
the leads. Be careful not to tear the leads othe wires or tear the lead
wires out of the power supply.
3. Connect the fresh baery pack to the leads.
4. Replace the baery cover. Screw the two 6-32 x 1/2” Phillips head
machine screws back in to secure the baery cover.
5. Charge the spray gun before aempng to use it.

We recommend charging depleted
baeries for 4-6 hours.
We do not recommend plugging a
charger into a fully charged spraywand.
This may cause baeries to over heat or
swell.
Be advised: Non-rechargeable 9-volt baeries can be used, however do not plug the baery
charger into the spraywand while non-rechargeable baeries are installed. This will result in
serious damage to the nozzles charging system an null the warranty.
