Using the general purpose inputs/outputs (GPIO)
PROTEUS stand alone
The PROTEUS provides eight GPIO pins. These are connected to I
2
C IO expander and
connector J9.

PROTEUS COM Express
The PROTEUS COM Express provides sixteen GPIO pins. Eight GPIO pins are
connected to I
2
C IO expander and connector J9. The other eight pins are connected
between Super IO and COM Express connector (J22).
To control GPIO pins use the driver provided by Eurotech.

Using the GPS
The PROTEUS provides an on board GPS module. The GPS module is connected to
COM4 port. The port needs to be set as follows: 4800bps, 8, N, 1, N. For proper
functionality an external antenna should be connected to the GPS antenna connector
(J25).

Using the ZigBee (optional)
The PROTEUS provides an optional on board ZigBee module.
Using the Bluetooth (optional)
