6 Preventive and corrective maintenance
WARNING
Unexpected startup during maintenance work, injuries possible.
Always remove the battery before performing cleaning or preventive and corrective
maintenance work.
6.1 Preventive maintenance schedule
Task Interval (cycles)
Cleaning the tool (Section 6.2) – Daily (for > 200 strappings/day)
– Weekly (for < 200 strappings/day)
Re-greasing the tool (Section 6.3) – Monthly
Tool inspection (recommended) – Every 2 years or 50,000 strappings, service
by specialist unit
6.2 Cleaning the tool
In the case of heavy dirt accumulation it is recommended that the tool be cleaned regularly (daily). In
particular, the tension wheel and the claws/blades should be checked for damage and kept clean.
WARNING
Wear eye protection when cleaning with compressed air!
► Clean the tension wheel and the claws/blades with compressed air by blowing out..
► If necessary replace tension wheel/claws/blades and cutter (Section 6.4/6.5).
6.3 Re-greasing the tool
To ensure optimal stability it is recommended that the tool be re-greased regularly.
► Remove battery from tool.
► Loosen two cylinder head screws (1) and
remove the front cover.
► Loosen three cylinder head screws (Torx) (2)
and carefully remove clincher housing with
guide plate.
– The claw mechanism, which is only held
in position by grease, is now open for
re-greasing.
► Spray all joints and sliding points at the lubri-
cation points (3) with high-pressure resistant
adhesive lubricating oil spray (e.g. Würth HHS
2000)
► Fitting is performed in reverse order.
