5 Operating instructions
5.1 Strapping
Preconditions
● The charged battery is inserted (Section 4.1.2).
● The desired operating mode is set (Section 4.2.).
In this description it is assumed that the selected operating mode (default mode) is “MAN”
● Desired tension force is set (Section 4.3).
► Push the strap from the dispenser through
the seal (1), then guide it around the pack-
aged goods. See recommended steel straps
(Section 7).
► Push the strap start (2) underneath the al-
ready inserted strap through the seal again.
► Bend the strap start below the seal
(10–15cm/4″–6″).
► Tighten the strapping by hand (pre-tesioning).
► Bend the strap coming from the dispenser
slightly upwards behind the seal (3). The
resulting bend prevents the strap from sliding
back through the seal.
► Grasp the strap (4) coming from the dispenser
with your left hand.
► Take the tool with your right hand.
► Pull the trigger (5).
– The rocker of the tensioning device opens.
► Insert the strap coming from the dispenser into
the tool as far as it will go.
► Push the tool forward up to the seal.
► Release the trigger.
– The strap is clamped in the tensioning
device.
WARNING
Strap tensioning or strapping, danger of jamming and crushing
Do not place hands or other body parts between the strap and the packaged goods
during the strapping process. Ensure that there are no other persons in the hazard zone
(Section 2.4).
For an emergency stop in the case of danger (trapped person): If no sealing has been
made yet, the strap tension can only be released by pulling the trigger. Pressing the ten-
sioning or sealing button again only stops the tool.
After sealing, cut the strap using a suitable tool (strap cutter).
