1.Disengagethebladecontrolswitch,releasethe
traction-controlpedaltoplacethemachinein
neutral,engagetheparkingbrake,stoptheengine,
andremovethekey.
2.Removegrassclippings,dirt,andgrimefromthe
externalpartsoftheentiremachine,especiallythe
engine.Cleandirtandchafffromtheoutsideof
theenginecylinderheadnsandblowerhousing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewith
milddetergentandwater.Donotpressure
washthemachine.Avoidexcessiveuseof
water,especiallynearthecontrolpanel,under
theseat,aroundtheengine,hydraulicpumps,
andmotors.
3.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
CleanerintheEngineMaintenancesection.
4.Greaseandoilthemachine;refertothe
Lubricationsection.
5.Changethecrankcaseoilandlter;refer
toServicingtheEngineOilintheEngine
Maintenancesection.
6.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingthe
TirePressureintheDriveSystemMaintenance
section.
7.Chargethebattery;refertoServicingtheBattery
intheElectricalSystemMaintenancesection.
8.Checktheconditionoftheblades;referto
ServicingtheCuttingBladesintheMower
Maintenancesection.
9.Preparethemachineforstoragewhennon-use
occursover30days.Preparethemachinefor
storageasfollows.
10.Addapetroleumbasedstabilizer/conditioner
tothefuelinthetank.Followthemixing
instructionsfromthestabilizermanufacturer.Do
notuseanalcoholbasedstabilizer(ethanolor
methanol).
Note:Afuelstabilizer/conditionerismost
effectivewhenmixedwithfreshgasolineandused
atalltimes.
Runtheenginetodistributetheconditionedfuel
throughthefuelsystem(5minutes).
Stoptheengine,allowittocool,anddrainthe
fueltank;refertoDrainingtheFuelTankinthe
FuelSystemMaintenancesection.
Restarttheengineandrunituntilitstops.
Choketheengine(ifapplicable).Startandrunthe
engineuntilitwillnotstart.
Disposeoffuelproperly.Recyclepursuantto
localcodes.
Important:Donotstore
stabilizer/conditionedgasolineover
30days.
11.Removethesparkplug(s)andcheckitscondition;
refertoServicingtheSparkPlugintheEngine
Maintenancesection.Withthesparkplug(s)
removedfromtheengine,pourtwotablespoons
ofengineoilintothesparkplughole.Usethe
startertocranktheengineanddistributetheoil
insidethecylinder.Installthesparkplug(s).Do
notinstallthewireonthesparkplug(s).
12.Cleananydirtandchafffromthetopofthe
mower.
13.Scrapeanyheavybuildupofgrassanddirtfrom
theundersideofthemower,thenwashthemower
withagardenhose.
14.Checktheconditionofthedriveandmowerbelts.
15.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.
Repairorreplaceanypartthatiswornor
damaged.
16.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.Paintis
availablefromyourAuthorizedServiceDealer.
17.Storethemachineinaclean,drygarageorstorage
area.Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchand
keepitinamemorableplace.Coverthemachine
toprotectitandkeepitclean.
