5.2.5. Attach the barrier attachment plate to the barrier using a 5/16”-18 x 1” long hex bolt
and 5/16” flat washer. Make sure the leg of the attachment plate with the two smaller
holes is captured under the upper hook and in contact with the ramp side rail.
5.2.6. Move the ramp or platform slightly (if needed) and clamp the attachment plate to the
side rail before drilling (FIG. 5.4).
5.2.7. Use the two smaller holes in the barrier attachment plate to drill two 1/4” or 9/32”
holes through the ramp side rail (FIG. 5.5).
5.2.8. Connect the barrier attachment plate to the ramp side rail using 1/4”-20 x 3/4” long
ribbed neck carriage bolts, 1/4”-20 nylon insert locknuts, and 1/4” flat washers. Orient
the head of the carriage bolt on the ramp side as shown (FIG. 5.5).
5.2.9. Tighten all fasteners securely.
