MDS CITY PANELS
Basically these are standard City panels, but provided with a Digitizer Module Ref. 2440, which being
mounted in a window, allows the panel to be used with MDS systems, and one or more Extension Call
Modules Ref. 2441 or Ref. 2442 that convert each pushbutton action into a digital signal acknowledged by
the digitizer.
As the size of the panel depends on the number of apartments (pushbuttons), this system is convenient
only for combined MDS systems, to be installed in internal blocks with a few apartments only. In any other
case (internal blocks with more than 20 or 30 apartments) MDS Direct panels are recommended.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTES
In condominiums with several blocks, remember when programming the DECODERS:
* That the 2 first digits of the numbers assigned to each decoder (house number) must coincide with the
Interior Block number previously assigned to the MDS CITY or MDS DIRECT Panel to which they are
connected.
For example: B B A A, with BB being the block number (one or two digits, from 00 to 99) and AA the
apartment number (two digits, from 00 to 99).
- Apartment number 1 of Block 1, will be programmed in the Decoder as: 101
- Apartment number 2 of Block 1, will be programmed in the Decoder as: 102
- Apartment number 1 of Block 23, will be programmed in the Decoder as: 2301
- Apartment number 13 of Block 45, will be programmed in the Decoder as: 4513
*The block number must also be programmed in the corresponding Interior Block panel. This can be done
from an MDS DIRECT panel, from an MDS Digital Central Unit or even from a PC, using the Decowin program.
See the corresponding technical information for each one.
*Then, a call must be made from the general entrance using the digits corresponding to the
block
number + the digits corresponding to the apartment number.
General Entrance-->block number + apartment number
* If the call is made from the Interior Block panel, only two digits (the ones corresponding to the apartment
number) are required.(MDS DIRECT panels). In MDS CITY, push the required button.
E.g., To call the apartment number 19 in block number 7.
From the General Entrance Panel, key in 719.
From the block panel in MDS CITY, press the button to which the call wire nÂș 19 from the Call Extension
has been connected. If it is an MDS DIRECT panel, we simply key in the apartment number 19. The "7"
is added automatically by the Interior Block panel.
Every call wire from the Call Extension must be connected to the corresponding pushbutton
number (apartment number).
*For installations with several MDS-CITY panels to the same block, all the call extension
modules must be wired in the same order.
The number printed in each output in the Call Extension Module calls must match the
apartment number.
To connect several Call Extension Modules, see following page.
