MDS DIRECT PANELS
The equipment defined in the MDS DIRECT system is the MDS Direct Audio Panel Ref. 2460 & MDS
Direct Video Panel Ref. 2461 for Audio or Video installations respectively (see figures below).
The MDS-DIRECTs main improvement, compared with the MDS-DIGITAL system, is that the outdoor
panels can work without any central unit.
The MDS-DIRECT can be combined with MDS-DIGITAL systems, giving the possibility of working as panel
in the internal blocks, providing the MDS DIGITAL panels for the general entrances.
Another possibility is combining MDS-DIRECT with MDS-CITY or even other MDS- DIRECT panels. In this
case one MDS DIRECT works as general entrance, while the MDS-CITY or other MDS DIRECT as internal
block entrances. See features figures and table on pages 4 and 5.
It is possible to program up to 100 access codes to allow the users to enter the building.
See the included technical information for further details.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES
In condominiums with several blocks, remember when programming the DECODERS:
* That the 2 first digits of the numbers assigned to each decoder (house number) must coincide with the
Interior Block number previously assigned to the MDS CITY or MDS DIRECT Panel to which they are
connected.
For example: B B A A, with BB being the block number (one or two digits, from 00 to 99) and AA the
apartment number (two digits, from 00 to 99).
- Apartment number 1 of Block 1, will be programmed in the Decoder as: 101
- Apartment number 2 of Block 1, will be programmed in the Decoder as: 102
- Apartment number 1 of Block 23, will be programmed in the Decoder as:2301
- Apartment number 13 of Block 45, will be programmed in the Decoder as:4513
The block number must also be programmed in the corresponding Interior Block panel. See "Digitizer
Instructions" for MDS CITY Panels or "Instruction Manual" included with the MDS DIRECT panel.
* Then, a call must be made from the general entrance using the digits corresponding to the block number
+ the digits corresponding to the apartment number.
General Entrance-->block number + apartment number
* If the call is made from the Interior Block panel, only two digits (the ones corresponding to the apartment
number) are required.
E.g., To call the apartment number 19 in block number 7.
From the General Entrance Panel, key in 719
From the Block Panel, if MDS DIRECT, key in the number 19. The "7" is automatically inserted by the panel.
In MDS CITY, push the desired button (codified as 19 with the Call Extension Module, in this example).
