Obtaining card addresses FireClass Panels and Repeaters
12.1 Obtaining card addresses
When you install cards as described in later sections of
this guide, you may need to set the addressing DIP
switches of these cards.
Here is an example of how to obtain the address to set:
1 Start the configuration software, for example, Fire-
Class Express.
2 Open the system configuration.
3 Go to ‘Point Regions’.
4 Find the ‘Card’ entries in the list.
5 Find an address number that is populated with the
type of card you are installing.
6 Make sure this number has not already been allo-
cated – you might have to read the DIP switch set-
tings of already installed cards.For example, the
PNI800 card address number is 2.
7 If the number is available, note this to be set on the
card’s DIP switch, as covered in a later section
below.
