Overview

This document serves as the Master Guide for the COMPUSTAR T13/R5 remote control systems, developed by Firstech LLC. It covers the functionality, technical specifications, and usage instructions for both the 2-Way 3-Button Liquid Crystal Display Remote (2WT13) and its companion remote (2WR5), which are part of the ALARM IT, START IT, or MAX IT systems.

Function Description:

The COMPUSTAR T13/R5 systems are designed for vehicle security and remote start functionalities. They allow users to remotely lock/arm, unlock/disarm their vehicle, activate remote start/stop, and control auxiliary outputs. The 2WT13 remote features an LCD screen for visual feedback, displaying vehicle status, battery voltage, and temperature (if equipped with a sensor). Both remotes support a "Proximity Unlocking" feature, which automatically unlocks/disarms the vehicle as the user approaches. They also offer "Alarm full mode" for receiving alarm alerts and notifications when within range of the vehicle. The system includes a "Valet Mode" to disable remote start and alarm functions when the vehicle is being serviced or loaned. Additionally, the remotes can be programmed for "2nd Car Mode" to control two separate vehicles, provided they share the same antenna model (ANT-2WSF). "Drive Lock" functionality allows the vehicle doors to lock automatically when the ignition is on, doors are closed, and the foot brake is pressed, and unlock when the vehicle is shut off or the parking brake is set. "Timer Start" enables automatic vehicle starting based on a pre-set time sequence or temperature. "Turbo Timer" keeps the vehicle running for up to 3 minutes after the key is removed, engaging the parking brake for turbocharged vehicles.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • FCC Compliance: The device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules, ensuring it does not cause harmful interference and accepts any interference received.
  • Power On: Both 2WT13 and 2WR5 remotes must be powered on before first use by holding the center or start button for 6-8 seconds.
  • Charging: The 2WT13R-SF is a waterproof USB rechargeable remote. It uses a micro USB cable for charging via a USB adapter or computer port. USB adapters rated 2.5A or higher and unregulated 12-volt car chargers are not recommended. Charging typically takes about 2 hours, providing 30-45 days of battery life with normal use (up to 60 days in Half Alarm mode).
  • Remote Programming: The system supports up to 4 remotes. Programming involves specific steps depending on whether the vehicle has a standard key or Push to Start.
  • Alarm Alert Modes: "Full" mode provides alarm notifications when within range, while "Half" mode provides alerts only when remote started. "Full" mode is required for the proximity unlock function.
  • Remote Start Error Diagnostics: The vehicle's parking lights flash three times, followed by additional flashes corresponding to specific error codes (e.g., motor running, key in ignition, door open, foot brake on, hood open, reservation off, tach/tachless sensing failure, DAS sensor shutdown, valet mode).
  • Remote Start Shutdown Error Codes: If the vehicle shuts down after remote start, parking lights flash four times, then again with an error code (e.g., lost engine sensing signal, lost emergency brake signal, foot brake triggered, hood pin triggered).
  • Reservation Mode Diagnostics: Specific flash patterns indicate issues during reservation mode (e.g., tach lost, E-brake signal lost, foot brake triggered, hood input triggered, door input triggered, trunk input triggered, security triggered, ignition input detected, no DAS detected, keysense input detected).
  • Alarm Diagnostics: The LED blinks slowly when armed. When the siren is active, the LED indicates the triggered zone (e.g., door, shock sensor, tilt sensor, ignition, hood, trunk, AUX sensors). Upon disarming, siren chirps indicate the triggered zone.
