Ford SYNC - Text Messaging

When a new message arrives, an audible
tone sounds and the display indicates you
have a new message. You have these
options:
• Press the VOICE BUTTON, wait for
the prompt and say "READ SMS" to
have SYNC read the message to you.
Using menu options:
Press the button mapped to View or
Listen of the information and
entertainment display to view or listen the
new text message.
Reply to a message
1. Press PHONE button.
2. Press the up or down arrow buttons
until Text messaging is shown and
press OK button.
3. Press the up or down arrow buttons
until View is shown and press OK
button.
4. Press the button mapped to More of
the information and entertainment
display.
5. Press the up or down arrow buttons to
select Reply to the sender and press
OK button.
6. Press the up or down arrow buttons to
select from the desired pre-defined
text messages.
7. Press OK button to send the selected
text message.
Forward a message
1. Press PHONE button.
2. Press the up or down arrow buttons
until Text messaging is shown and
press OK button.
3. Press the up or down arrow buttons
until View is shown and press OK
button.
4. Press the button mapped to More of
the information and entertainment
display.
5. Press the up or down arrow buttons to
select Forward the SMS and press
OK button.
6. Press the up or down arrow buttons to
select the desired recipient from
phonebook/call history/enter number.
7. Press OK button when desired recipient
is selected.
8. Press OK button again to confirm.
Sending a text message
Using voice command:
1. Press the VOICE BUTTON button.
2. When prompted say "PHONE".
3. When the system confirms, say
"MENU".
4. When prompted say "SEND TEXT
MESSAGE".
5. Press the up or down arrow buttons to
select from the desired pre-defined
text messages.
6. Press OK button to send the selected
text message.
7. Press the up or down arrow buttons to
select the desired recipient from
phonebook/call history/enter number.
8. Press OK button when desired recipient
is selected.
9. Press OK button again to confirm.
Note: Each text message will be sent with
the signature "This message was sent from
my Ford.”

SYNC® system and not from the phone.
