Forma Scientific, Inc.________________________________________________Maintenance
5-4
After complete decontamination, it is recommended that the
incubator be run and tested before placing any valuable contents
inside the incubator chamber.
5.3 Cleaning the Cabinet Exterior
The incubator exterior may be cleaned with soap and water and a general use
laboratory disinfectant.
5.4 Draining the Water Jacket (Refer to Figure 5-1)
For best results, the water in the water jacket should be changed annually.
Turn off the incubator and disconnect its electric plug from the outlet.
Remove the metal cover located below the door which protects the valve and drain
fitting. Two knurled thumb screws hold it in place.
Attach the 3/8" I.D. vinyl tubing to the drain fitting.
Route the tubing to a drain or large bucket and turn the valve to the horizontal (valve
open) position.
If the water jacket is to be refilled, return the drain valve to the vertical (closed)
position and review the filling instructions in Section 3.10.
