THE WASTE STATION
If you want to tell the NT8 to dispose tips, then you need to interact with the Waste Station on
the interface.
Prerequisites
You have already added the Pick Tip command to the task list.
To add the Dispose Tip command:
Double-click the Waste Station. The Dispose Tip command appears on the Task List.
THE STATUS BAR
At the bottom of the screen, you'll find the status bar. The status bar is made up of the
following components:
Indicator Box
The indicator box displays one of the following colors:
Option Description
Aspirate/Dispense
Add: Adds the specified settings to the Task List and
closes the Task Details dialog.
Add More: Adds the task to the task list and waits for you
to add another aspirate or dispense command.
Close: Exits the Task Details dialog.
Note: The Aspirate/Dispense option is enabled only if
you have already added Pick Tip command to the Task
List (see The Tip Caddy Stations).
Use Custom Aspirate Displays the Aspirate Custom Height menu.
Note: This option is for advanced users or support only!
Set Protein Volume See Setting the Protein Volume.
Set High Volume Protein
Tray/Set Low Volume Protein
tray
Enables you to select the specific protein tray type to be used
in your experiment. The NT8 supports the use of low volume
protein tray and high volume protein tray.
Tip: If you want to switch to simulation mode to test task lists without engaging the software,
click the green box.
