This chapter describes the safety measures and safety devices. Before
setting the machine into operation be sure you have read and understood
the following safety information.
Safety instructions are intended to provide occupational safety and prevent
accidents. Observe all the safety instructions provided here and at the
beginning of each chapter.
Always read the following chapter on safety and the safety instructions
contained carefully before commissioning and using the machine.
Storing of
operating manual
The operating manual must be accessible at all times to the operating and
maintenance staff for the entire service life of the machine.
Therefore, always keep the operating manual near the machine’s place of
use.
2.1 Explanation of the signal words and symbols used
2.1.1 Behaviour based warning notes
While you are using the machine dangers may occur in certain situations
or as a result of certain behaviours.
In this operating manual, safety instructions are given before a sequence
of operations which involve danger of personal injury or property damage.
The precautions described must be observed to avoid the danger.
The safety instructions are indicated by the following symbol:
Signal word!
Type and source of the danger.
Possible consequences of the danger.
Measures to avoid the danger.
Signal word Meaning
DANGER Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, will result in danger to life or death.
WARNING Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, could result in serious injury or death.
Caution Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury.
Notice Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, could result in damage to the machine or the
environment.
