Fault Possible cause Remedy
Bone fractures.
Animal body not fully in
restrainer.
Make sure that the all of the
animal’s body is within the
restrainer.
Animal’s weight is
insufficiently balanced.
Check whether the animal’s
weight can be supported by non-
conductive straps, belts or the
side walls.
None of the animal’s weight
should be carried by its feet, the
body should be relieved.
Animal has been stunned
twice.
Send animal to blood draining
immediately after stunning.
Stunning twice can lead to bone
fractures.
Uncontrolled blood
spurting.
Animal was drained of blood
too late.
Perform the blood drain cut within
10 seconds of stunning.
