Taking Photographs
Focus/Exposure Lock
Compose photographs with o -center sub-
jects.

Position the subject in the focus
frame and press the shutter button
halfway to lock focus and exposure.
Focus and exposure will remain
locked while the shutter button is
pressed halfway (AF/AE lock).

Press the button all the way down.
The Fn1 Button
Focus and/or exposure lock can be as-
signed to the Fn1 button.
Option
Description
AE-LOCK
Pressing the Fn1 button locks expo-
sure.
AF-LOCK Pressing the Fn1 button locks focus.
AE/AF LOCK
Pressing the Fn1 button locks both
focus and exposure.

When the Fn1 button is used for focus or exposure lock, the a ected
setting will remain locked even when the shutter button is pressed
halfway.
