Using the power-management features

The notebook uses less power when the available power-management features are used. You
will then be able to work longer when using the battery before having to recharge it.
Power efciency is increased and e n viron m ental pollution reduced. By
choosing the best power options, y ou can make signica nt savings and
at the same time help protect th e environment.
When you close the LCD scre en, depending on the setting in Windows, the
notebook au tomatically enters a powe r saving mode.
Select the power management functions in your Control Panel.
If you need further information about an option, you can get help with most
settings by pressing
F1
to open the Microsoft Help.
When the notebook i
s in power-saving mod e, the following must be rememb ered:

g mode, open les are held in the main memory
orinaswaple on t
he hard disk.
Never turn off yo
ur notebook while it is in a power saving mode. If the built-in battery is
nearly empty, cl
ose the open les and do not go into power saving mode.
If you do not intend to use your note book for a long period of time:
Exit power saving mode if necessary via the mouse or keyboard or by switching on the
notebook.
Close all opened programs and completely shut down the notebook.
If you operate th e notebook in battery mode:
When the system is running in battery mode, the power consumption can be adjusted.
Click on the battery symbol in the task bar.
Choose between optimum performance and optimum battery consumption.
