3.5 MSCS and WSFC Notes

• To use MSCS or WSFC configuration, install the driver for ETERNUS Disk storage systems or

either the Windows Server® 2008 R2 or the Windows Server® 2008 standard multipath driver

(msdsm) on each node (server), and then check the connections before MSCS or WSFC

installation.

• Check the registry values by following the instructions in "Chapter 9 Checking the Registry

Information" (page 26), after installing MSCS or WSFC.

• When setting up the MSCS, a reset group must be set for the ETERNUS Disk storage

system. A reset group does not need to be set for WSFC.

3.6 VERITAS Storage Foundation for Windows (SFW)

• Installing VERITAS Storage Foundation for Windows

VERITAS Storage Foundation for Windows should be installed as specified in its accompany-

ing documentation.

• VERITAS Device Driver Installation (DDI)

If the ETERNUS Disk storage systems are connected to a configuration that uses the VERI-

TAS Storage Foundation for Windows, the VERITAS DDI will also need to be installed.

Note that the VERITAS DDI must be installed after the VERITAS Storage Foundation for Win-

dows installation.

Refer to the Symantec web-site for VERITAS DDI installation details.

• Checking the Load Balance Policy setting

For multipath configurations, make sure that "Round Robin(Active/Active)" is set for the Load

Balance Policy setting.

SFW 5.1 SP1 or later VERITAS DDI installation is not required.

• In the "DSM Selection" window that appears during the VERITAS

DDI installation, select "FUJITSU ETERNUS 2000 Array" regardless

of the ETERNUS Disk storage system to be connected.

Only "FUJITSU ETERNUS 2000 Array" is displayed on the "DSM

Selection" window. Other ETERNUS Disk storage systems are not

displayed.

• When VERITAS Storage Foundation for Windows 5.1 SP1 is newly

installed, VERITAS DDI installation is not required.
