fi-5900C & fi-5950 CONSUMABLE REPLACEMENT AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
CLEANING THE CONSUMABLE FEED COMPONENTS
It is very important to clean the scanner consumables on a regular basis
to avoid mis-picking, double feeding and paper jam problems. These
items should be cleaned every 10,000 sheets. More frequent cleaning
will be required if scanning paper with a large amount of printing,
documents filled out in pencil, or carbonless multipart forms.
• Open the ADF Cover.
• Wipe the rubber parts of the
Pad with a lint free cloth
moistened with F1 Cleaner or
isopropyl alcohol in the
direction of the arrows.
• Open the Roller Cover.
• Clean the Pick Rollers and
the Separation Rollers with a
lint free cloth moistened with
F1 Cleaner or isopropyl
alcohol .
• Close the Roller Cover after
the cleaning is completed.

Note:
Proper cleaning of the Pad, Pick Rollers, Brake Roller and Separation
Rollers will increase the life of each component.
