Security functions
Setting the supervisor and user password
Call up the BIOS Setup and select the Security menu.
Select the Set Supervisor Password eld and press the Enter key.
With Enter new Password: you are a sked to enter a password.
Enter the password and press the Enter key.
Conrm new Password th en appears and you are asked to conrm the password.
Enter the password again and press the Enter key.
Setup N otice: Changes have b een saved is displayed to con rm that the
new password has been saved.
To assign the user password, select the eld Set User Password and proceed
exactly as when conguring the supervisor password.
You can exit the BIOS Setup once you have n ished chang ing t he settings.
From the Exit menu, choose the option Exit Saving Changes.
Press the Enter key a nd select Yes.
The notebook is rebooted and the new password becomes effective. If you now want to
open the BIOS-Setup, you must rst enter your supervisor or user password. Please note
that you only have access to a few BIOS settings with the user password.

You can only change the supervisor password when you have logged into
the BIOS Setup with the supervisor password.
Call up the BIOS Setup again and s
elect the Security menu.
Highlight the Set Supervisor Password or Set User Password eld an d press the Enter key.
Enter your current supervisor or
user password .
Enter the new supervisor or user password.
Conrm new Password requires you
to conrm the password.
Enter the password again and press the Enter key.
Notice: Changes have been saved pr
ovides you with conrmation that the
new password has been saved.
