Working with t he notebook
Only use the stylus provided with your notebook. Do not use substitute stylus
tips that were not specially designed for your notebook. Replace the stylus tip
if it is worn. The wa rra nty does not cover a scratched screen.
While writing, you should take care that you do not scratch the surface of
the disp lay (e.g. with a wristwatch or b r a celet).
The stylus of your notebook i
s an electronic instrument which can be damaged
if used improperly. Handl
e the stylus with care.
Our recommendations for p
roper handling of the stylus are as follows:
• Do not gesture with the st
ylus.
• Do no t use the stylus as a pointer.
• Never use the stylus on a
ny other surface than the screen of your notebook.
• Do not try to turn the grip of the stylus. The thumb grip is used to place
the stylus in its slot and to take it out of the slot.
• Never store the styl
us with its weight on the tip (e.g. with the tip down in a stylus
container). If the s
tylus is stored with the tip pointing down, this ma y have a n
adverse effect on th
e s tylus mechanism (particularly unde r high temperatures). In
this case the stylu
s tip may react as t hough it is constantly being pressed down. To
avoid dama ge, the s
tylus should be stored in the stylus slot when not in use.
The s tylus can be influence d by electromagnetic fields (cursor quivers or
jumps). There m ay be a few a reas on the screen where the cursor quivers
slightly in spite of pressing the stylus down firmly.
The screen responds to entries made with the tip of the finger or the stylus when the
tip of the finger or the s tylus directly touches the screen.
You can use the stylus to perform all functions for which you would otherwise use a mouse.
In addition, you can conveniently delete hand-written stylus entries using the pen.
