RECORDING
GENERAL
The image from the external device
cannot be displayed.
• Try pressing [INPUT SELECT] repeatedly to select the external input channel.
• Turn on all connected devices.
• Check if the connections are made securely and correctly.
HDD / DISC
Recording is impossible. • When some conditions are met, it may be prohibited to make a recording from 2
minutes before the programmed start time of a timer recording.
• This unit cannot record programmes that contain copy protection signal. This is
not a malfunction.
• The space of the recording media may be used up. Try deleting unnecessary
titles, or exchange it with the recordable media.
• The maximum number of titles or chapters has exceeded. Delete the
unnecessary titles to make enough space or insert a new recordable media.
• Check if the connections are made securely and correctly.
• Dual recording of Blu-ray Disc™ + Blu-ray Disc™ combination is not possible.
• Dual recording of the same channel is not available. (Timer recording is
allowed.)
• You cannot make a DVB broadcast recording while recording the external input,
or vice versa.
• Maximum recording length for 1 title is 8 hours. When the recording goes over 8
hours, it stops automatically.
Timer recording cannot be
performed.
• The internal clock of the unit may have been stopped due to a power failure that
lasted for more than 30 seconds. Reset the clock. (See page 64.)
DISC
Recording / Dubbing is impossible. • TV programmes or external input signals cannot be recorded directly on to DVD.
They only can be dubbed.
• Copy-once title can only be dubbed to CPRM compatible BD-RE/-R or VR
mode DVD-RW.
• If some kind of power failure occurs during recording, the disc may no longer be
useful. Try new disc in that case.
• Check if the disc is protected or finalised. Undo the protection or the finalisation.
• Video mode DVD-RW once formatted on other unit cannot be recorded on this
unit unless formatted in this unit.
• Check if the connections are made securely and correctly.
