2.3 Data Recording Unit (connecting IEEE1394 cable)
Connect the DRU and DCU with the IEEE1394 cable (20 m, 25 m, or 30 m). The cable is
attached the connectors at both ends. The connectors are labeled “DCU” and “DRU,”
respectively; do not confuse the connectors.
For the IEEE1394 cable, keep in mind the following points.
• Do not cut the cable.
• If welding of cable gland or cabling support is necessary, weld BEFORE running cable.
• Take care not to damage shield of cable.
• The connector connected to the DCU must be protected from rain. If necessary, run the cable
through conduit or the like.
• Remove the connector cap and cap bracket from the DRU connector.
How to connect the cable to the DRU
The connector cap and cap bracket are attached
to the DRU connector and fixed with vinyl tape.
Vinyl tape, connector cap and cap bracket are
removed perfectly.
The cap bracket is NOT removed.
DRU connector
1. Remove vinyl tape, connector cap and cap
bracket from the DRU connector perfectly.
Be careful not to damage the DRU
connector when removing parts.
2. Pass the cap nut, teflon washer and rubber
bushing onto the cable as shown left.
