Equipment Approval Information
Yourtelephone equipment isapproved for connectionto the PublicSwitchedTelephoneNetwork and
isin compliance with ports 15 and 68, FCCRulesand Regulationsand the TechnicalRequirementsfor
TelephoneTerminalEquipment publishedby ACTA.
1 Notification to the Local Telephone Company
Onthe bottom of this equipment is alabel indicating,among other information, the USnumber and
RingerEquivalenceNumber (REN}for theequipment. Youmust, upon request, providethis information
toyour telephone company.
TheRENisuseful in determining the number of devicesyou mayconnect to your telephone line and
still haveall ofthese devicesring when your telephone number iscalled. Inmost (butnot all)areas,the
sum of the RENsof alldevices connectedto one line should not exceed 5. Tobecertain ofthe number
of devicesyou may connect to your line as determined by the REN,you shouldcontact your local
telephone company.
A plug andjack usedto connect this equipment to the premiseswiring and telephone network must
comply with the applicable FCCPart 68 rulesand requirements adopted by the ACTA.A compliant
telephone cord and modular plug isprovided with this product. It isdesignedto be connected to a
compatible modularjack that isalsocompliant. Seeinstallation instructions for details.

• Thisequipment may not be usedon coinservice providedbythe telephone company.
• Party linesare subjectto state tariffs, and therefore,you may not be ableto useyour own telephone
equipment if you areon a party line. Checkwith your local telephone company.
• Notice must begiven to the telephone company upon permanent disconnection ofyour telephone
from your line.
• Ifyour home hasspeciallywired alarm equipment connectedto the telephone line,ensurethe
installation of thisproduct doesnot disableyour alarm equipment. Ifyou havequestionsabout what
will disable alarm equipment, consultyour telephone company or a qualifiedinstaller.

2 Rights of the Telephone Company
Shouldyour equipment cause trouble on your line which may harm the telephone network,the
telephone company shall,where practicable, notify you that temporary discontinuance of service
may be required.Where prior notice isnot practicable and the circumstances warrant such
action, the telephone company may temporarily discontinue serviceimmediately. Incase of such
temporary discontinuance, the telephone company must:(1)promptly notify you of such temporary
discontinuance;(2)afford you theopportunity to correct the situation;and (3)inform you ofyour right to
bring a complaint to the Commissionpursuant to proceduresset forth in Subpart Eof Part 68, FCCRules
and Regulations.
Thetelephone company may makechanges in its communications facilities, equipment, operations
or procedureswheresuch action is required inthe operation of its businessand not inconsistentwith
FCCRulesand Regulations.Ifthesechanges are expectedto affect the useor performance of your
telephone equipment, the telephone company must giveyou adequate notice, in writing, to allowyou to
maintain uninterrupted service.
