Finally, be aware that after a power failure, there can be a protective 3-minute delay before the unit restarts.

  If the Bucket Full LED is flashing and the alarm is sounding on your GE Dehumidifier while the drain hose is connected, check the drain hose connection to ensure it's tight on the fitting. Also, make sure the drain hose is pointed straight down to the floor without any kinks.

  Several factors can affect your GE Dehumidifier's ability to dry the air. If newly installed, allow at least 24 hours to achieve the desired dryness. Ensure that curtains, blinds, or furniture aren't blocking airflow to the unit. Also, the filter may be dirty and require cleaning. Make sure the Humidity Control is set low enough; try a lower percentage or the 16 Nonstop setting for maximum dehumidification. Check that all doors and windows are closed tightly, and ensure a clothes dryer isn't blowing moisture into the room, and if so, vent the dryer to the outside. Finally, remember that lower room temperatures reduce moisture removal, and these dehumidifiers are designed to operate above 65°F.
