When properly seated, the locking
tab should lock onto the cooktop
rim through the notch in the drip
pan.
Surface Units

highestsettingfor a minute.Thecoilswillburnoff
anysoil.
Toremovea surfaceunit:
Toremovethedrippansforcleaning,
thesurfaceunitsmustberemovedfirst.
[Z] pushthesurfaceunitbacktoward
thereceptacletofreethe lockingtab
fromthecooktop.
Drip pan
Receptacle
[] Liftthesurfaceunitabout1 inchabovethedrip
panand pullitout.
Donot liftthesurfaceunitmorethan1inch.
Ifyoudo,it maynot lieflaton thedrippan
whenyouplugit backin.
NOTE:Repeatedliftingofthesurfaceunit
morethan I inchabovethe drippancan
permanentlydamagethereceptacle.
Toreplace a surface unit:
rfl Replacethe drippanintotherecess
inthecooktop.Hakesuretheopening
inthepan linesupwiththe receptacle.
r_ Inserttheterminalsofthesurfaceunitthrough
theopeninginthe drippanand intothe
receptacle.

r_ pushthesurfaceunitin anddownto lockthe
tabin placesoit restsevenlyinthe cooktop.
Donot immersethe surfaceunitsin liquidsof any
kind.
Donot cleanthesurfaceunitsin adishwasher.
Donot bendthe surfaceunitplugterminals.
Donot attemptto clean,adjustor inanyway repair
theplug-inreceptacle.
Drip Pans
Removethesurfaceunits.Thenliftoutthedrippans.
Forbestresults,cleanthedrippansby hand.Place
themina coveredcontainer(ora plasticbag)with
cupammoniato loosenthe soil.Rinsewith clean
waterandpolishwith acleansoftcloth.
Thedrippansmayalsobecleanedina dishwasher.
Cleantheareaunderthedrippansoften.Built-up
soil,especiallygrease,maycatchfire.
Donot coverthe drippanswithfoil.Usingfoil so
closeto thereceptaclecouldcauseshock,fireor
damagetothe range.
NOTE:tfyourcooktopisequippedwith shiny,silver-
coloreddrip pans,donot cleanthem intheself-
cleaningoven.Permanentdamagetothe finishcan
occur.
tfyourcooktopisequippedwith blackor gray
porcelain-coateddrippans,theycan becleanedin
theovenduringthe self-cleaningcycle.Beforeyou
beginaself-cleaningcycle,removeanyheavysoil
from thedrippansand placethemontheporcelain-
coatedovenracks.Donotplacethedrippans
directlyonthe ovenbottom.Afterthe self-cleaning
cycleiscompletedandthe drippansarecool,wipe
themwith a dampclothto removeanyremaining
ashorresidue.
Lift-Up Cooktop
Theentirecooktopmaybeliftedupandsupportedin
the uppositionfor easiercleaning.
Be sure all surface units are turned
off before raising the cooktop.
Thesurfaceunitsdo not needto beremoved;
however,youmayremoveoneto makeraisingthe
cooktopeasier.Therearetwo sidesupportsthat lock
intopositionwhen thecooktopis
liftedup.
Aftercleaningunderthecooktopwith hot,
mildsoapywater andacleancloth,lowerthe
cooktop.Becarefulnotto pinchyourfingers.
Tolowerthecooktop,pushtherodsbackand gently
lowerthecooktopuntilit restsin place.
