The CONFIGURATOR Program
The Optical Disk Media requires no formatting or other preparation prior to use. However, the MDD (Magnetic
Disk Drive - or Winchester Disk) does have to be formatted and have the software (microcode) properly loaded.
On initial installation it is necessary to format the MDD and load microcode. This is done using the Configurator
program on the Optical Disk Tape 46-266596G1. This procedure is accomplished as follows:
1) Mount the tape on the Mag Tape Drive and set the Drive On Line in High Density Mode.
2) Boot the Tape (Boot device 22).
3) The Software Menu will be displayed as follows:

FILE NUMBER? 2 <CR> Enter 2 to load the Configurator program.

U - Update EEPROM
Q - Quit the program

You must have a printer at device code 17 to log your dialog to a printer.
