1. Save patient files and customer default data. Patient files should all be archived prior to starting the Load-
From-Cold procedure. Customer default data must be st or ed onto tape since the Load-from-Cold will
destroy any information on the disk. For these purposes, customer default data is considered to be the
Calibration files, Characterization files, and the scan RX files.
* Note: There is a new SAVEALL program to save all of the Customer files to a single tape;
however, this new program is only available after WD (or later) has been loaded onto disk.
Review the LFC procedure for instructions (section .1c).
2. Format the disk. This set up the block structure on the disk for RDOS.
Note: Perform this step for first time install. For subsequent LFC’s, omit this step if there are no
suspected disk problems or if you are not performing a disk drive replacement.
3. Initialize the disk to setup parameters for RDOS, test for bad blocks, and set up the bad block table.
Note: Perform this step for first time install. For subsequent LFC’s, omit this step if there are no
suspected disk problems or if you are not performing a disk drive replacement.
4. Load Microcode (MV7800 only)
Note: Perform this step for first time install. For subsequent LFC’s, omit this step if there are no
suspected disk problems or if you are not performing a disk drive replacement.
5. Install bootstrap loader onto the disk.
Note: Perform this step for first time install. For subsequent LFC’s, omit this step if there are no
suspected disk problems or if you are not performing a disk drive replacement.
6. Load RDOS and CT software.
7. Load all ancillary tapes. Includes diagnostic Load from Warm tape.
8.Start the CT program ( ru n " M").
9. Restore customer default data, i.e., reload the data saved in Step 1 onto the disk. Also, restore cal files*.
* Note: There is a new RESTORALL program to recall all of the Customer files from tape;
however, this new program is only available after WD (or later) has been loaded onto
disk and the tape was produced by SAVEALL. Review the LFC procedure for
instructions (section 9b).
10. Verify system operation by performing axial, scout and dynamic scans at M-level.
11. Q-Cal procedure (
Q-cal vector is part of the SCCAL.XC file
)-
Note: Perform this step for first time install or if Q-cal has never been performed before. For
subsequent LFC’s, omit this step if there are no x-ray tube, collimator or detector
replacements and/or adjustments.
