Rev. 12 Indicates Change Direction 18000
4-12-15
Scan the polystyrene membrane which contains 5 different sized holes (10 mm., 7.5 mm., 5 mm., 3 mm., and
1.5 mm.). For instance, with the axial alignment light on the circumferential reference line of the phantom, the
polystyrene membrane can be located 35 mm. away. Perform the following scan 4 times:
S / 120 kV / 170 mA / 10 mm. / 2 sec.
Standard Algorithm and 512 X 512 matrix.
On the resultant image perform ROI #1 (49 X 9 pixels) at pixel coordinates x= 256, y=200 (water) and perform
ROI #2 (49 X 9 pixels) at coordinates x=256, y= 235 (polystyrene / water). See illustration 4-12-4. The results
should be as follows:
ROI# 1 - ROI# 2 = 9.5 ± 2 (mean CT #).
You must average at least 3 to 5 holes from the four scans.
