Bits Name Meaning when 1
0 Control full The drive command initiated by the previous IOPULSE OR ORESET has has
not yet been issued to the selected drive.
1 R/W Done The read/write operation initiated by the previous START has terminated.
(This is the same as the device Done flag).
2-5 Drive 0-3 Done The respective drives have executed a positioner command, have rejected an
illegal positioner command, have been trespassed upon, or have changed their
ready status.
6 Parity A parity error occurred on a data transfer between the controller and the adapter.
7 Illegal sector The sector address exceeded the capacity of the drive (22).
8 ECC A data error was detected by the error check circuits.
9 Bad sector A bad sector flag was detected during a sector header check.
10 Cylinder error A cylinder address error was detected during a sector header check, i.e., the
cylinder address requested was not the cylinder address found.
11 Surf/sect error A surface or sector address error was detected during a sector header check.
12 Verify error A data error error was detected during a verify operation, i.e., the data read from
the disk did not match the data stored in the processor.
13 Read/write timeout The read/write operation initiated by the previous START was not completed in
1 second.
14 Data late The FIFO overflowed during a read or underflowed during a write, i.e., the Data
Channel transfer did not keep up with the disk.
15 Read/write fault Any or the above faults (bits 6-14) or a drive fault on the drive currently selected
