Bits Name Meaning when 1
0 Invalid status The command channel is busy and bits 5-6 and 8-15 should be ignored.
1 Reserved The drive is reserved by the other processor (there is no other processor in a GE
CT 9800 system).
2 Trespassed One of the drives was trespassed upon by the other processor (there is no other
processor in a GE CT 9800 system).
3 Ready The drive is ready to accept commands.
4 Busy The drive is busy executing a position command, or reporting an aborted seek or
a trespass by the other processor.
5 Offset The positioner is offset forward or reverse, i.e. the servo head is offset.
6 Write disable The write circuits are disabled, i.e., the WRITE ENABLE switch on the drive is
turned off.
7 --- Reserved for future use.
8 Invalid address The surface of cylinder capacity of the drive was exceeded,
(18 surfaces, 410 cylinders).
