GE MEDICAL SYSTEMS CT 9800 QUICK SYSTEM
Rev. 3 Direction 18000
8-6-12
Failure to recognize the DGIOP means the the DGIOP identification code was not read from public
memory. Failure points are:
1) Bad DGIOP cable / cable not or improperly connected to HIB. IF IMPROPERLY CONNECTED,
EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO DGIOP WILL RESULT. Correct before replacing the DGIOP board.
2) DGIOP - dead processor on DGIOP board, bad public interface.
3) Public Memory bus / public memory (if this is true then MASTER and SLAVE PUBLIC memory
access tests will also fail). The DGIOP / HIB cable DOES have to be connected for the DGIOP to be
recognized.
c) IOP’s are = CHI DAS --- or IOP’s are = --- DAS ---
DGIOP and DASIOP cards are in wrong slots - AP will not run.
Another approach is to do the following:
DIR CTDS
R
UPAP (Rerun Deadstarts)
WTERM
(At this point you should get the standard WTERM help table)
RAP
(You should see the reset complete message printed on the CRT)
*RESET COMPLETE*
1) If reset could not complete, the message will be:
***ERROR*** COMMUNICATION FAILURE
isolate the serial link problem.
2) If reset completed proceed as follows (in WTERM):
D20020 CR
(You should see a memory dump beginning with address 20020)
020020 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 C0 00 00
020030 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
020040 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 1E 00 00
020050 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
All locations should be zero except for the following:
Location 02002D should contain
“C0”
Location 02004D should contain
“1E”
If locations 020020-02003F are corrupt, REPLACE THE DASIOP.
If locations 020040-02005F are corrupt, REPLACE THE DGIOP (CHI).
3) Continue testing of the DGIOP:
NCR
To get back to the [S] PROMPT in WTERM
A20041 CR
Set up INTERNAL DGIOP Diagnostics
81 CR
=CR
Executes internal diagnostics
D20020 CR
Dump Memory locations again. Location 02005C=80; 02005D=00
If locations 002005C & 02005D contain any other values, replace the DGIOP.
NCR
To get back to the [S] PROMPT in WTERM
ECR
To get back to “R” Level (EXIT WTERM)
