869 MOTOR PROTECTION SYSTEM – INSTRUCTION MANUAL 3–7
In 869, the switching device can be configured as Breaker or Contactor ( System > Motor >
Setup). If the switching device is configured as Breaker then the SLD Breaker color is
specified by the LED assigned for BKR 1 Open. If the switching device is configured as
Contactor, then the SLD Contactor color is specified by the LED assigned for Contactor
Open.
If the switching device is first configured as a Breaker (Contactor) and LED X is assigned for
Br
eaker (Contactor) and later the switching device is changed to Contactor (Breaker) then
• user must re-configure LED X for Contactor (Br
eaker), otherwise previous Breaker
(Contactor) LED configuration will be applied to select the SLD Contactor (Breaker)
Color.
The parameters displayed in the Front panel screen example are as follows.
LED Status Indicators
Front panel LED details:
• Number of LEDs: 17
• Programmability: any logic variable, or virtual input
• Reset mode: self-reset or latched
The 869 front panel provides two columns of 7 LED indicators each, and 3 LED pushbutton

column are non-programmable LEDs. The bottom 3 LED indicators from the first column,
and the 7 LED indicators from the second LED column are fully programmable. The
indicators “TRIP” (LED 2), and “ALARM” (LED 3), are also programmable, and can be
triggered by either a selection of FlexLogic operand assigned in their own menu, or by the
operation of any protection, control or monitoring element with function selected as Trip,
Alarm, or Latched Alarm.
The RESET key is used to reset any latched LED indicator or Target Message once the
cond
