9 - INSTALLATION
9.1 DIRECTIONS FOR PROPER INSTALLATION
- The softener must be installed by qualified staff who shall issue a
certificate of proper installation in compliance with the European and
national regulations.
- The softener must be installed in places with enough room for
maintenance.
- The installation of the softener must be carried out by following the
drawings shown at paragraph 9.2.
- The installer must not run water inside the softener in any case.
- The user shall notify the installation to the national competent
authority.
- The user shall take care of getting the salt.
- The installation of domestic softeners for civil potable use must be
carried out in compliance with the European and national regulations
that provide for the following:
• placing the equipment in a clean place;
• presence of a water counter before the equipment and taking points
for testing before and after treatment systems;
• presence of a by-pass system for cutting out the softener;
presence of a manual mixing valve for adjusting the water hardness
at the outlet (already supplied).
• presence of a device able to ensure the non-return of water.
Check water quality:
• if water is potable, carry out installation as per paragraph 9.2;
• if water is coming from a private supply, it is necessary to have a
water analysis to identify the treatments to be carried out and do not
jeopardize the operation of the water softener.
Make sure the following conditions are observed:
- Pressure: 1,5 - 8 bar
- Room temperature: 5 - 50 °C
- Water temperature: 5 - 50 °C
- Minimum water flow rate: see previous table
- Mains voltage: 230 Volt +/- 10% - 50 Hz
In case of spill, brine is not irritating, not toxic and not noxious, does
not produce harmful fumes. It is however recommended to avoid
contact with eyes.
- Never disassemble the components of the valve.
- Check that during installation pipes are without any working shavings
or any other foreign bodies.
- Provide a 230V power supply plug.
